Airbus Industrie, a consortium of European aircraft manufacturers, first introduced the elegant A330 into passenger service in 1994, with Air Canada proudly adding the aircraft to its fleet in 2000. As the twin-engine member of the widebody A330/A340 family, the A330 brings comfortable and economical service to the world's airlines with its 550-mph cruising speed, 4,500-mile range, and low operating costs.
This painting was presented to Air Canada by Airbus Industrie upon delivery of the first A330 to the airline and a limited edition of 330 lithographs of this image was published as a special promotional item. The A330 depicted here is shown cruising above the Canadian Rockies at dusk, carrying its 335 passengers to some exotic destination.
