It all began when I was working in a traditional art gallery in the Mission Viejo Mall in southern California. Several inquiries came in from the Marine's at the nearby U.S. Marine Corp. Air Base in El Toro, wondering if we could get more aviation artwork.
As it turned out, a client knew of an aviation artist whom he contacted to bring in some of his artwork for me to see. I stocked up on his art and little did I realize until the smoke cleared, that all of Dan Witkoff's art had sold in a very short period of time.
Realizing the potential for this artwork, and for the artist, I said "Come here boy, I'm going to make you a star!". So off to the airshows we went to discover a starving clientele for aviation art.
